Our Restaurant Listings

We conduct exhaustive research on restaurants for each city in our guide. Because it would be impossible for us to personally dine at the thousands of restaurants included, we rely principally on, 1) reviews by respected publications like the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Chicago Tribune, 2) personal interviews with hundreds of top chefs across the country, and 3) recommendations from Savory members, to learn about restaurants that serve great food and provide unique and memorable experiences. We tend to shy away from including corporate chain restaurants, however we have chosen to include a select few because they work hard to provide quality food, service and hospitality to their guests. Savory Cities Videos

Savory Cities videos are strictly editorial. As such, our video program is invitation-only and restaurants cannot pay to be included. For each city, we identify restaurants to be included from personal experience, general critical acclaim, and recommendations from chefs and food industry professionals.

Our Written Articles and Guides

We ask that our editors and writers not identify themselves to, or accept free meals from, restaurants they plan to write about. We believe this improves the likelihood that their experience will be similar to a typical experience at the restaurant, and this helps us best identify which restaurants to recommend.
